The Daffodil is an experimental kalimba built for my exhibition Study in Place in collaboration with Justin Cooper. It features a tine design utilizing looped piano wire that can create very low but effective bass when amplified without introducing additional overtones to the note. The result is an instrument that is played more like a desktop piano than a traditional kalimba, which allows for new avenues of exploration.
